"We're not sure why so many people say that building a news house was the most stressful thing that they have ever done. Obviously they didn't have a builder like Art Elliott."

"Sometimes one just gets in too big a hurry, and it does not work in your favor. We talked to Mr. Elliott about doing the re-modeling of our home but he was quite busy and booked for several months. So, we decided to use another builder to do the job. That was our biggest mistake!
We have seen the work quality of the Shelter Associates Team as they built a home for some friends of ours. We especially appreciated their attention to details, their care of the work site, the cleaning up of the site after the job was finished, and the close, personal attention given to each step of the construction. We were quite impressed when they took out and replaced some drywall that got wet and started to mildew during the construction process — all at their own expense. They also were very good about discussing any proposed changes and just how it would affect the project.
The Shelter Team is well-versed in the concepts of "The Not So Big House" and all the wonderful inside sight lines, views and use of space and light— all of which go into the making of a comfortable, useable and delightfully enjoyable home.
Mr. Elliott was also very generous with his time when I asked him to counsel me on some construction problems we faced. He did so, and his only compensation was a large latte that I took to him at our meeting. The help he afforded us was greatly appreciated and usefull.
It is our considered opinion that Shelter Associates, Inc. is a very qualified, talented, consumer-oriented business that does beautiful work and cares about the home where their customer is going to live."
